Scouting For Food For Catholic Charities and Scouts Update #7322

The 49th Annual Scouting for Food is happening now, sponsored by Scouting #7322. In this season of servicing others, through gifts of time and contribution, we need help to gather the food items needed on the list below. Bring your bags full to St. Albert the Great by December 15, 2024, or take perishable items directly to Catholic Charities. Together we can make an impact in feeding families who don’t have enough this Christmas.

Den Leader Martin Blalack, of Pack 7322, received his U.S. Citizenship on October 4, 2024. On Monday night, at 7322’s Annual Thanksgiving Feast, Martin and his family were honored on Martin becoming a U.S. Citizen. Jim Ferrigan, Interim Chair for the Reno Diocese Catholic Committee on Scouting recognized Martin and a U.S. Flag was presented to the Blalack Family by Senior Patrol Leader Riley Stewart and senior Scout Sam Mori.

7322 Scout Units (Pack, Troop-G, Troop-B, and Venture Crew are sponsored by St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish in NW Reno. Martin and his family are members of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Parish and his children attend OLS School.

Catholic Scouts from Scouting America are working on their Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblem. At their class on December 8th Scouts visited St. Albert’s on a field trip to view Holy Oils, vestments, the altar, Tabernacle, Mass set-up, and more. Catholic Scouts are finishing their chapter on the Eucharist. Emblem Counselors are Malia O’Brien and Joe McCoy.
