Colonel Susan Malone’s papal honor was first announced through a press release in February. Her formal investiture as a Dame of St. Gregory the Great took place on March 2, 2025 at St. Thomas of Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, Nevada. During this ceremony, Colonel Malone was presented with both a medal and sword to commemorate her papal damehood from Bishop Daniel Mueggenborg along with Bishop Randolph Calvo and Bishop Richard Higgins (Archdiocese for the Military USA).
