Do you know of a local group in our diocese that is working to feed the hungry and for other poverty alleviation efforts?

The local grant process for the Rice Bowl program is open through June 15, 2025. 

The Lenten RICE BOWL Program is sponsored by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) (www.crs.org) and the Diocese of Reno. The program of prayer, fasting, and giving is conducted in parishes and schools throughout the country. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised are used for international development and twenty-five percent are distributed as grants in our diocese for hunger and poverty alleviation efforts.

We recognize that many small local groups in our diocese work to alleviate hunger and other needs with similar goals to CRS, and we want to distribute needed funds from the annual Rice Bowl local donations to aid that work.

Decisions on the 2025 Rice Bowl grant applications will be complete by June 30, 2025.
