The best thing about being Catholic: We have preserved the full means of grace by which Jesus can be experienced in Seven Sacraments, Scripture, the inspiring lives of the Saints, Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, proven spiritual paths (Carmelites, Jesuits, Benedictines, Franciscans), magisterial teachings, and those ordained in Holy Orders.
The worst thing about being Catholic: Many people settle for a cultural Catholicism which is based on rules and practices rather than relationship with Jesus, which animates the entire religious experience and gives it meaning. This can lead to being Catholic in name but not in reality, which often misrepresents Catholicism and can lead others to discredit the faith experience itself.
